You want to do magick - dont, real magick requires a real witch!

You read some books and think you know enough - dont, a real witch never knows enough , we learn till we return!

START SEEKING!

You can "hear" / "sense" when your plants need water.

Your heart actually skips a beat when you see new shoots and flowers blossoming in Spring.

You will pull off on a busy road to save an animal in danger , and probably end up keeping it along with your 20 other strays back at home

When you are in the country side you feel as if you have come home.

You are aware of an inner voice guiding you, yet always thought it was a touch of schizo!

You are drawn to gems and crystal like a magnet!

You are curiously "moved" by the moon.

You have a desire to celebrate the cycles and seasons of our earth

Where shall we begin...

The beauty of the craft is that there is no beginning and there is no end.

We are one glorious and continuous cycle of birth, death and rebirth!

We have discovered how amazing we are within

We have created new and truer realities for ourselves

We have become quiet in our minds and heard the earth speak,

We have removed our blinkers and been touched by the moon and the sun,

the flowers and the trees, the rain and the thunder,

the fertile soils that feed us and then takes us back

into her loving womb when we are weary.....

We have opened our hearts and truly loved

This is the craft of the witches

This is my craft....

There are many traditions one may follow in witchcraft, Alexandrian, Anglo-Saxon, Arthurian, Asatru, Celtic, Dianic, Druidic, Eireannach, Gaelic, Gardenerian, Manx, Nordic, Obod, Strega and the list goes on...
My best advice to a newcomer is to read, read, and read some more. I believe that somewhere along the way, you create your own craft.

You grow into what resonates with you, and you become.

This is what I have chosen for myself, and though sometimes it can be a lonely job, a solitary self created witch is what I am today.

Tomorrow I may be something else!

I cant wait to get there, can you?

When the moon rides at Her peak

then your hearts desire seek.

Head the North winds mighty gale,

Lock the door and trim the sail.

When the wind blows from the East,

expect the new and set the feast.

When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth

When the wind whispers from the West,

all hearts will find peace and rest.

Nine woods in the cauldron go,

burn them fast and burn them slow.

Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows

Oak in the forest towers might,

In the fire it brings the Gods insight

Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.

Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel , the tree of wisdom and learning,

adds its strength to the bright fire burning.

White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits and fertility.

Grapes grown upon the vine

giving us both joy and wine

Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen

Elder is the Ladys tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.

Four times the major sabbats mark, in the light and in the dark.

As the old of year starts to wane the new begins, its now Samhain

When the time for Imbolc shows, watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.

As the wheel turns to Lammas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the minor sabbats fall, use the sun to mark them all

When the wheel has turned to Yule

light the log the horned one rules

In the spring , when night equals day, time for Ostara to come our way.

When the sun has reached its height

time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn equinox fall

Heed the flower, bush and tree

by the Lady blessed you will be

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone and the truth you shall know

When you have and hold a need

harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend

Merry Meet and Merry part

bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three fold laws you should,

Three times bad and three times good.

When misfortune is enow,

wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do, unless your love is false to you.

I CANT TELL YOU HOW MANT TIMES I HAVE COME ACROSS PEOPLE WHO EXCITEDLY REMEMBER OR SHEEPISHLY ADMIT TO A TIME WHEN THEY USE TO BELIEVE IN FAERIES !

I KNOW I AM ONE OF THEM.

I CANT QUITE PUT MY FINGER ON IT AS TO WHY I REMEMBER THIS,

ITS JUST A MAGICKAL STATE OF KNOWING...

SO WHEN MY MOTHER TOLD ME TO HUSH WHEN MY 4 YEAR OLD CHATTED AWAY ABOUT HIS IMAGINARY FRIENDS, I COULD JUST SMILE , FOR SHE WOULD HAVE BOLDLY DECLARED THAT SHE COULD RECALL ME CHATTING WITH THE FAE....

I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE A 62 YEAR OLD MOTHER WHO STILL BELIEVES!

WHAT I HAVE LEARNT IS THIS.....

To be a witch is to love and be loved.

To be a witch is to know everything, and nothing at all.

To be a witch is to move amongst the stars while staying on earth.

To be a witch is to change the world around you, and yourself.

To be a witch is to share and give, while receiving all the while.

To be a witch is to dance and sing, and hold hands with the universe.

To be a witch is to honor the gods, and yourself.

To be a witch is to be magick, not just perform it.

To be a witch is to be honorable, or nothing at all.

To be a witch is to accept others who are not.

To be a witch is to know what you feel is right and good.

To be a witch is to harm none.

To be a witch is to know the ways of old.

To be a witch is to see beyond the barriers.

To be a witch is to follow the moon.

To be a witch is to be one with the gods.

To be a witch is to study and to learn.

To be a witch is to be the teacher and the student.

GODDESS STUFF

A man whispered " Goddess , speak to me "
